Message from the Chair

This year's conference was a tremendous success, exceeding all our expectations - we had the largest turnout in the conference's history, a fantastic series of speakers and talks, the biggest and most varied NGO Fair yet, and overwhelming positive response from attendees. It is all thanks to you (our guests), our speakers, sponsors, NGO participants, friends, family, volunteers, and last but not least, the team. The momentum built from this event has certainly inspired all of us. However, even though the conference is over, the work of HHRights isn't - we still have some exciting announcements coming up! We will post these notices on the website, as well as through our Facebook group and newsletter.

Thank you once again to everyone - HHRights 2010 will be a weekend to remember.

- Andy

We are excited to announce a new addition to our speaker line-up: George Roter, Co-CEO and Co-Founder of Engineers without Borders Canada! He will be opening our conference on Friday, March 5. The evening is sure to be packed with unforgettable moments. If you haven't already registered, make sure to do so soon.

Registration for our Benefit Dinner has officially opened! There are only a handful of seats available at the moment - if you are interested in attending, register early to avoid disappointment. There has been a slight modification to one of our special lecture sessions as well - Humanitarian Aid in Conflict Zones is now 'International Aid in Conflict Zones' to present a wider exploration of the topic. Finally, we would like to make a correction to our promotional materials - Ms. Marguerite Barankitse will not be able to attend the conference due to personal reasons. We apologize for the inconvenience and confusion.

The NGO Fair page has been updated with NINE more participants! That brings the total number to over 20, the biggest we've ever had. Also, we have 2 new organizations who are sponsoring the conference this year, who are displayed on the right. Thank you to our generous supporters.

The Program page has been updated, including new speakers along with photos! Hold on tight as we are currently finalizing the arrival of two very phenomenal keynotes for the conference. Also, there has been a new addition to the Team page - see if you can spot it!

We had a very amazing turnout in terms of registrations this week - you can expect the conference to be sold out by March. Early-bird registration is now closed, and the regular registration form is on-line. The Program page will be updated this weekend, and registration for the benefit dinner (very limited capacity) will begin next week.

Yves Engler and Lee Maracle are now speaking at the conference! This little update doesn't do them barely enough justice - both are very accomplished and passionate writers so be sure to check them out. Also, the Team page has been updated to include our fantastic volunteers.
